These are the tips and info I got from Sarah 12 Red team mom. I would love to have help with ideas/planning for a couple of group activities for the girls when they have down time. Maybe even a big family event.

Far Westerns is right around the corner! Below is a list of tips and info I have accumulated from other parents over the years of attending this tournament. It is a BIG production, and a lot of fun!

FOOD

There are food vendors inside the convention centers. They do not allow you to bring outside food or drink (besides water) in. Have the girls put a couple healthy snacks in their back packs – I have heard that is okay. The food vendors in the past are typical snack bar and junk food, and the lines have been very long. They do usually have a coffee vendor inside.

PLEASE ARRIVE SATURDAY AT 7:00am. The girls have the AM wave.

TIPS & INFO:
If you are checking in Friday, arrive to check into hotel as early as possible. The lines in the hotels get very long at check in. 100’s of teams are trying to check in all at once.
Pick up your wristbands you purchased at the main lobby of the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.
If we play a the Reno Sparks Convention Center, allow 1 hour -45 minutes to get to the court. Account for valet, parking and walking to the court. It is a massive convention center with 77 courts. It will take a while to find parking. And the parking lot is a long walk to the courts.
We have to pay to park. I could not find info on the cost. I’m guessing around $10 per day.
Some parents have used UBER in the past. Saves 30-45 mins in travel.
Allow enough time to get ice. With so many teams staying at the hotels, the ice machines run out. Parents have had to go from floor to floor to find ice.
NO Dinx puts up a huge retail booth. The girls can get all kids of tournament shirts, etc. and customize them.
You do not need chairs inside, but I would bring one to sit outside.
